Frisco's Summer
Frisco's summertime is well worth the wait. Situated in the heart of the Rockies and overlooking Lake Dillon, there are an abundance of ways to enjoy this majical time of year while in Frisco. What ever your passion may be; sailing across Lake Dillon, backpacking in the Eagles Nest Wilderness, or spending time with the kids and dog at one of the many parks, life is good. With cool mornings and evenings, and vibrant sunshine in between the dramatic clouds and rainstorms that leave postcard-inspiring rainbows, this short but sweet season comes with endless opportunities to enjoy the great outdoors for all.Hiking and Trail Running:
During Frisco's summer you will find miles of trails for all ages and ability levels that are guaranteed to reward your efforts with stunning views. A sturdy pair of shoes and perhaps some water, snacks, and extra layers, is all it takes to start out from a trailhead right in town, such as Zach’s Stop. From there, you can access the Peaks Trail, Miners Creek, Rainbow Lakes, Masontown, Mt. Royal, and the high peaks of the Tenmile Range! For those who want to stay a little bit lower in elevation, the Peninsula Recreation Area offers miles of new trail, but super popular for its simplicity and family-friendly terrain is the Perimeter Trail, which boasts stunning views of Lake Dillon as your friendly neighborhood mountains tower above.

Biking:
Do you like bikes? We do too! Pavement, dirt, singletrack, and a bike park, we’ve got it all! Frisco is surrounded on three sides by National Forest with miles of purpose-built and maintained trails. The six mile-long Perimeter trail is not just for hiking, it is also a great loop for those who are newer to mountain biking, with plenty of other trail options at the Peninsula Recreation Area for others who may want more saddle time, elevation gain, and variety. The popular Peaks Trail can get you to Breckenridge and back. You can ride this eight mile-long (each way), intermediate trail in either direction, with the option to take the paved recpath back to where you started. If you want to practice your skills, the Frisco Bike Park, located next to the Frisco Day Lodge in the Frisco Adventure Park, has four different amenities for riders of all ages and abilities: pump track, slopestyle course, dirt jumps and a dual slalom course. The park is open from dawn to dusk in the summer (typically May through early October, weather dependent) and is free to the public. For those who prefer road riding, the Summit County Recreational Pathway and miles of scenic roads offer plenty of scenic route options in the area from town-to-town, to the high mountain passes. Don’t want to pedal that hard on your vacation? Several Frisco bike shops like Rebel Sports and Pioneer Sports offer rental bikes and shuttles to the top of Vail Pass so riders can enjoy the scenic and gratifying cruise downhill into Frisco without breaking a sweat.

Frisco's Summer Water Sports:
The Frisco Bay Marina can help you enjoy a day on the beautiful Dillon Reservoir, whether you like to paddle on a board or kayak, or let the motor do the work with our pontoons and fishing boats. Rentals are available seven days a week. The Marina offers plenty of space for those who just want to hang out near the water on the beach, lay on the grass at the Marina Park, or watch their kiddos enjoy the playground. Hungry? The Island Grill at the Marina offers plenty of casual food and drink options.Frisco Historic Park and Museum:
The Frisco Historic Park and Museum right in town on 2nd Avenue and Main Street offers an active and interactive glimpse of history. You can roam the park and walk into original cabins from the mining days, outfitted with artifacts from the 1800’s and early 1900’s. For a deeper dive, you can take historical walking, hiking, and even biking tours through and around town with trained Museum staff and see the area as it may have been in a bygone era.

Frisco's Summer Adventure Park
The Friso Adventure Park is a year-round park featuring favorite things to do for kids and families. In the summertime, here are the big attractions:- The Bike Park, complete with dirt jumps, a pump track, and a slope-style dual slalom course.
- The Skate Park has 28,000 square feet of jumps. bumps, and more.
- The Peak One Disc Golf Course is in the same 28,000-square-foot area. You can even rent a disc.
- Ball fields.
- The Peninsula Recreation Area has miles of hiking and biking trails.
- The Frisco Park Day Lodge - take a break in this beautiful facility.
