Nordic centers, otherwise known as Cross-country ski resorts, are found throughout Colorado. Along with the popular and well-known alpine ski resorts, come the not-as-well-known or promoted cross-country ski touring centers. Most alpine ski resorts have a nearby nordic ski center. Description – The Aspen Snowmass Nordic Trail System is one of the largest FREE trail systems in the country. The trail systems have developed over the years and now connect Aspen, Snowmass Village, and Basalt. There is a select number of trails to facilitate walking and dogs. The trail system hosts two fully-outfitted cross-country centers or pro shops with lessons and gear available.

Telluride Nordic Center
Description – All users to share the trails. Snowshoers are asked to walk to the side of the classic or skate track. They do not groom for snow biking. The USFS has approved the designation of dog-friendly trails at Priest Lake. Dogs are welcome on designated dog-friendly trails with direct and constant owner supervision and control. Look for new trail signage at the Priest Lake trailhead and along the designated route.
